The Swiss Agency for Development and
Cooperation (SDC) has mandated the
Swiss Centre for International Agriculture
(ZIL) of ETH Zurich to manage the
Research Fellow Partnership
Programme for Agriculture, Forestry
and Environment (RFPP).
The
overall goal of RFPP
is to enhance development-relevant
research capacity in the fields of
agriculture, forestry and environment.
Science and technology provide important
capacity for analyzing, problem-solving
and innovation in particular of the
problems and opportunities of developing
and transition countries.
This enhancement of research capacity
is achieved by conducting research
partnerships oriented at individual
as well as institutional aspects of
capacity building. Therefore, RFPP
supports PhD or Post-Doc research
projects embedded in research partnerships.
These partnerships require a strong
collaboration between Swiss research
institutions and centres of the Consultative
Group on International Agricultural
Research (CGIAR) or equivalent international
institutions. The programme is generally
open to Swiss citizens (or well established
Swiss residents) up to the age of
35 as well as to candidates from developing
countries or countries in transition
up to the age of 40.
Project
proposals can be submitted twice a
year, at the end of March and end
of September. Thus, the next dates
for submission are 31 March 2007 and
30 September 2007. Applications have
to fulfil the requirements of partnership,
nationality and age limits as specified.
For further information on requirements
and procedures of the submission please
