The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) has released the first everEuropean Atlas of Forest Tree Species.Regional distribution maps of the species developed by the European Forest Genetic Resources Programme (EUFORGEN) were used to derive the chorology of natural distribution of several species. The Atlas includes a dynamic database of information on European trees, their use, their threats, and eventually the changes that climate may bring about in our forests. The Atlas will be continuously updated as new information on tree species becomes available.
