The objectives of the draft strategy were identified by APFORGEN’s National Coordinators, building on the national and regional needs and priorities that emerged during the implementation of FAO's Global Plan of Action on Forest Genetic Resources and APFORGEN's previous strategy in the member countries from 2018 to 2022. The strategy is aligned with the strategic priorities of the Global Plan of Action, and with the targets and indicators of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework which provides the broader framework for the role of biodiversity in achieving sustainable development by 2030-2050.
