Dr. Hung is Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Training and International Cooperation at the Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences (VAFS), where he has worked since 2002. He is a Principal Research Scientist with over 20 years of experience in natural forest restoration, plantation forestry, and sustainable forest management.

His research combines field experiments and process-based modeling to understand forest responses to environmental changes and develop sustainable, eco-friendly production systems. He is currently involved in several projects on watershed-based restoration of degraded forests, and has authored numerous scientific publications.
