Regional Workshop: Conservation Priorities for Asian Tree Species and Their Genetic Resources
The Regional Workshop on Conservation Priorities for Asian Tree Species and Their Genetic Resources was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from the 18th to the 21st of March. It brought together more than thirty experts from seventeet countries and regional and international organizations to validate distribution maps for the project’s target species and discuss their use in conservation planning. The workshop was jointly organized by Bioversity International, the Forest Department of Sri Lanka, and the Asia Pacific Association of Forestry Research Institutions (APAFRI), and funded by the National Institute of Forest Science of the Republic of Korea with contributions from the Government of Germany, the UK Darwin Initiative and the CGIAR Research Programme on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry.
Inception Workshop
The APFORGIS Inception Workshop was held in Putrajaya, Malaysia, from the 17th to the 19th of April, 2018. It brought together over thirty experts from eleven APFORGEN member countries and regional and international organizations. It was jointly organized by Bioversity International, APFORGEN and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
